BC Dynamo Thump Antwerp

Enterprise BC Dynamo exited the EuroChallenge with a 73:59 Group F triumph over Antwerp Giants on the last night of the Regular Season.

Antwerp, who had already sealed their place in the Last 16, led 22:21 in the last minute of the first quarter after a dunk by Trent Strickland. Enterprise then took over. Yury Vasiliev replied with a jumper for the Russians to give them the lead at the end of the period.

Vasily Zavoruev began the second quarter with a lay-up and Nikita Shabalkin followed with three straight baskets before Yury Vasiliev drilled a three-ball. A Shabalkin free-throw capped the 14-0 run for the Russians, who prevailed for just the second time in six games.

Alexey Zhukanenko ended up with 16 points to lead the winners while Shabalkin had 15. Russia international Evgeny Voronov added 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals. Darnell Wilson poured in 18 points for Antwerp, who ended the Regular Season with a 3-3 record.

Dynamo Head Coach Sergey Bazarevich:

«Although the result of this game didn't decide anything we were prepared to win. We want to raise the level of our game. We must respect ourselves and our fans. We reached some level in the Russian championship and we must keep it. Of course motivation of this game was not the highest, but I'm happy that we leave for break in a good mood».

Dynamo player Nikita Shabalkin:

«The rival was a strong team. In Belgium we lost by19 points. Today's game didn't decide anything for us and for Antwerp Giants. But our fans supported us and we deserved this win».
