On Wednesday, January 16, 2013 four Russian clubs competed in Eurocup Last-16 week 2 games. All squads played at home. Spartak St Petersburg confidently defeated Cajasol Seville, Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar swat away Stelmet Zielona Gora. As for BC Triumph Lyubertsy it lost to BC Budivelnik Kiev and UNICS Kazan was defeated by Ratiopharm Ulm.

On Wednesday, January 9, 2013 four Russia clubs played Eurocup Last-16 games. UNICS Kazan defeated Galatasaray Medical Park, Lokomotiv-Kuban swat away BC Spartak St Petersburg and BC Triumph Lyubertsy was crashed by KK Buducnost Voli.

In a fantastic and emotional game BC Khimki hosted PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban and won in the overtime - 104:100. Loko played better in the beginning of the match and took the lead 28:19 but then Khimkians recovered and gave fight to the opponent. Eventually everything was determined in the overtime - due to perfect free throws of ex-Loko player K.C. Rivers the home team succeeded. Vitaly Fridzon scored 22 points in BC Khimki, Nick Calathes added 33 points in Lokomotiv-Kuban.

On Wednesday, December 12, 2012 Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar, UNICS Kazan, Spartak St Petersburg and BC Triumph Lyubertsy played on the road last Eurocup regular season games and all scored victories. Loko beat Trefl Sopot, UNICS swat away Telenet Oostende, Spartal swept out Cholet Basket and BC Triumph in the extra time overcame Artland Dragons. Eventually all Russian clubs entered Eurocup Last 16.

In a VTB United League game (the result takes into account of PBL championship) CSKA Moscow in Krasnodar played with the local team Lokomotiv-Kuban. Due to 23 points of Milos Teodosic CSKA scored important road victory. In the roster of Loko Maxim Grigoriev added 16 points.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2012 five Russian clubs competed in European cups. BC Triumph and BC Spartak St Petersburg scored confident victories within the bounds of Eurocup, BC Krasnye Krylia - in EuroChallenge. As for UNICS Kazan and PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban, they suddenly were defeated at home by the teams from Poland and Ukraine accordingly.

On November 28, 2012 five Russian clubs played another games in European cups. BC Triumph Lyubertsy, UNICS Kazan and BC Spartak St Petersburg won their Eurocup matches, BC Krasnye Krylia succeeded in EuroChallenge. Unfortunately PBC Lokomotuv-Kuban was swat away in the road by Galatasaray Medical Park.

On November 21, 2012 four Russian clubs played Eurocup regular season week 3 games and succeeded. Spartak St Petersburg swat away Ratiopharm Ulm, PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban destroyed Galatasaray Medical Park, UNICS Kazan on the road defeated Panionios BC Athens and BC Triumph Lyubertsy left no chances to VEF Riga.

In a VTB United League game (the result of the match takes into account of PBL championship) PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban at its home court hosted BC Triumph Lyubertsy and scored a tough victory. Nick Calathes with 16 points and 8 assists and Andrey Zubkov with 16 points and 6 rebounds made a huge contribution to the Loko's triumph. Tywain McKee added 23 points for BC Triumph.

On November 14, 2012 five Russian clubs participated in European Cups' games: Lokomotiv-Kuban, UNICS Kazan, Spartak St Petersburg and Triumph Lyubertsy - in Eurocup, BC Krasnye Krylia Samara - in EuroChallenge. All of them made great strides toward next steps of the tournaments: Loko beat Trefl Sopot, UNICS was better than Telenet Oostende, Spartak defeated Cholet Basket, Triumph succeeded in the overtime vs Artland Dragons and Krasnye Krylia won over CSU Asesoft Ploiesti.

Lokomotiv-Kuban got on the level terms with Triumph in the the-best-of 5 series for the 3rd place in the BEKO PBL. Lokomotiv won game 2 in Lyubertsy 93:81. The game was very evenly matched in the first half, but then Triumph's tiredness showed up and the visitors took advantage of it. Games 3 and 4 to take place on 18th and 19th of May in Krasnodar.

The home side had a several runs in this game, but Loko always came back courtesy of KC Rivers' 3-pointers. But the American missed the decisive one with 45 second to go in the game when his side was down by 3. Sergey Karasev made a dunk on the break-away and Triumph got this victory.

UNICS finished in 6th place in standings and will play in 5-8 play-offs with Spartak-Primorye. On Monday 16th of April during the BEKO PBL Board meeting the representatives of the clubs have approved the concept of the United tournament of BEKO PBL and VTB League, which recently received full support from the Euroleague.  Also the scheme and dates for the current season play-offs were approved.

BEKO PBL board meeting took place in Moscow today, it was attended by managers of all 10 clubs and President of Russian Basketball Federation Aleksander Krasnenkov. The future of possible unification between BEKO PBL and VTB United League has been discussed. General director of VTB United League Andrey Shirokov had been invited, but he refused to attend the meeting having notified the Board with an official letter.
