In a PBL championship game BC Spartak-Primorye at home faced BC UNICS Kazan and suffered a defeat - 66:78. The guest team took a lead in the second quarter and didn't allow the Vetra's squad to recover. One of the leaders of Primorye Oguchi played only 15 minutes and scored 2 points. So UNICS scored the last victory in PBL championship. Primorye has one more game in the tournament.

In a home team Tywain McKee did his best with 23 points and Sergey Karasev added 20 points and 6 rebounds. As for UNICS, Petr Samoilenko played a great game with 18 points (he scored 4 triples out of 7 attempts).

It was enough for overall win. Kaimakoglou did his best in 18 points and Veremeenko - in 17 for UNICS, in BC Enisey Rich scored 15 points.

On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 three Russian clubs played return Eurocup quarterfinal games. Lokomotiv-Kuban crashed KK Buductnost Voli and will meet with Valencia Basket. UNICS Kazan won but didn't enter play-offs due to the total difference on the sum of two games. Spartak SPb was down in Kiev by Budivelnik and had to say goodbye to Eurocup. So it will be only one Russian representative in the Eurocup play-offs - Loko.

Despite equal game in the first half of the meeting, the home team made a huge jerk after a big break that determined the outcome of the battle. UNICS won - 74:66. Ian Vougioukas scored 18 points, Chuck Eidson added 14 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds in Kazan team. In KK Chester Simmons scored 20 points.

In a PBL championship game PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban in Krasnodar faced BC UNICS Kazan. Unproductive figures after first quarter allowed to suggest that it would be a viscous match. Despite smart game of the home team in the first half, after big beak UNICS took a lead and in the very end was more successful despite only 11 points in the last quarter. Eventually Lokomotiv lost to UNICS - 58:59. Maric scored 12 points, Calathes - 11 points and 7 assists. In UNICS Eidson added 11 points.

Having taken a lead in the beginning of the meeting the home team didn't allow the yellow-blue to recover. In UNICS Kaimakoglou scored 21 points, Vougioukas - 13, Eidson - 12. In BC Khimki - Fridzon - 14, Monya - 14, Planinic - 13.

On Thursday, February 7, 2013 in a PBL game CSKA Moscow at its home court faced UNICS Kazan and scored a confident victory. A huge team effort in the third quarter (35:14) allowed the Messina's team to feel easily before the end of the game. Nevertheless UNICS didn't let down and tried to recover. But it was not enough for the success. Nenad Krstic scored 16 points, Milos Teodosic and Vladimir Micov - in 14 points each. In UNICS Chuck Eidson added 26 points.

Spartak St Petersburg confidently defeated Cajasol Seville, Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar swat away Stelmet Zielona Gora. As for BC Triumph Lyubertsy it lost to BC Budivelnik Kiev and UNICS Kazan was defeated by Ratiopharm Ulm.

On Friday, December 21, 2012 UNICS Kazan within the bounds of PBL championship hosted BC Triumph Lyubertsy and scored a very confident victory. From the very beginning the home team took the lead and didn't allow BC Triumph to show its best. Guests' leaders Tywain McKee and Kyle Landry because of injuries didn't take part in the game. In UNICS Kazan Kaimakoglou scored 19 points, in BC Triumph Sergey Karasev added 22 points and 5 assists to become the best player of the Moscow Region team.

Loko beat Trefl Sopot, UNICS swat away Telenet Oostende, Spartal swept out Cholet Basket and BC Triumph in the extra time overcame Artland Dragons. Eventually all Russian clubs entered Eurocup Last 16.

BC Triumph and BC Spartak St Petersburg scored confident victories within the bounds of Eurocup, BC Krasnye Krylia - in EuroChallenge. As for UNICS Kazan and PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban, they suddenly were defeated at home by the teams from Poland and Ukraine accordingly.

Thereby the Samara team interrupted the nine-straight-series of victorious matches. Best players of the home team became Chester Simmons and Nikita Balashov (10 points each). In the roster of UNICS Kostas Kaimakoglou scored 15 points and Ian Vougioukas - 14 points.

The guests got the leadership from the beginning of the game and didn't give initiative to the opponent. As a result - a confident victory of the Army team and no losses in the PBL standings. As for UNICS it has only 1 win and 4 losses now.

On November 14, 2012 five Russian clubs participated in European Cups' games: Lokomotiv-Kuban, UNICS Kazan, Spartak St Petersburg and Triumph Lyubertsy - in Eurocup, BC Krasnye Krylia Samara - in EuroChallenge. All of them made great strides toward next steps of the tournaments: Loko beat Trefl Sopot, UNICS was better than Telenet Oostende, Spartak defeated Cholet Basket, Triumph succeeded in the overtime vs Artland Dragons and Krasnye Krylia won over CSU Asesoft Ploiesti.

Zoran Planinic added 18 points, Vitaly Fridzon - 14 and James Augustine - 13 points and 6 rebounds. Kostas Kaimakoglou stayed with 20 points and became the best scorer of the overall match.

It was only the first quarter when UNICS stayed in touch with their arch-rivals CSKA, the Kazan side won it 21-16. But then the visitors fixed their firm wall defense and took driver's seat. Led by magnificent Andrei Kirilenko CSKA stormed to their 12th victory of the BEKO PBL regular season. UNICS has made 21 turnovers in this game.

Strugging Nizhniy Novgorod has produced a major upset in the BEKO PBL championship with a 82-77 win over UNICS. The Kazan side seemed to be in control after first two quarters holding a 9-pont lead, but backed by their fans NN regrouped and won the following quarter by 11, and then was victorious in the nervous end. UNICS has now suffered 5 straight losses in all competitions.

BC Triumph has increased its chances to make the semis of the BEKO PBL championship significantly after beating UNICS in Kazan 76:73. The visitors were down by 6 after the first half, but it was the third quarter that became crucial. Triumph managed to hold UNICS to just 6 points and won it 21-6. The game went to an exciting end, but the Moscow region side kept the lead and Sergey Karasev made all the decisive free throws.

UNICS Kazan bounced back form last week's loss to Triumph overcome Enisey away from home. Evgeny Pashutin's men were in control throughout the game but let the lead slip in the final quarter. The home side managed to cut the gap to just one point, but UNICS kept their compousre to get their 5th win of the BEKO PBL championship.

BC Triumph has increased its winning games to 6 games after beating UNICS at home 71-61. The visitors entered the game lacking energy and agression which cost them as they were trailing by 17 at half. Dmitry Kulagin was on fire and shut the buzzer with a great long range shot at the the end of the 2nd quarter. UNICS did cut the gap to 10 later on, but with Lyday and Domercant having an off game, couldn't find a leader to alter the course of the game.
