In a PBL championship game BC Spartak St Petersburg at home faced BC Enisey from Krasnoyarsk. Starting from the very beginning the guest team took a lead and was ahead practically all the time but in the clutch Spartak managed to break the course of the meering and eventually succeeded - 70:67. So the St Petersburg team for the first time in its history won PBL bronze medals!

In a PBL championship game PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban in Krasnodar played with BC Spartak St Petersburg. Equal game was till the mid-third quarter when the guest team made a big run and eventually won - 61:71. In Loko Brown scored 13 points and 6 rebounds, in BC Spartak Dmitriev and Dragicevic added in 13 points each. So both team tied with 9 wins and 8 losses in the PBL standings.

In a PBL championship game BC Triumph on the road faced BC Spartak St Petersburg and scored a tough victory - 85:82. Vasily Karasev's team took initiative in the second quarter but after a big break Spartak recovered and even took a lead. In the last period Triumph played better and eventually won. In Triumph McKee scored 24 points, Karasev - 23. In BC Spartak Mavrokefalidis added 25 points and 6 rebounds.

On Wednesday, March 13, 2013 three Russian clubs played return Eurocup quarterfinal games. Lokomotiv-Kuban crashed KK Buductnost Voli and will meet with Valencia Basket. UNICS Kazan won but didn't enter play-offs due to the total difference on the sum of two games. Spartak SPb was down in Kiev by Budivelnik and had to say goodbye to Eurocup. So it will be only one Russian representative in the Eurocup play-offs - Loko.

Three Russian clubs took part in Eurocup quarterfinal games. Lokomotiv-Kuban and Spartak St Petersburg scored confident victories and UNICS  Kazan was beaten on the road by Valencia Basket.

In a PBL championship BC Nizhny Novgorod hosted BC Spartak St Petersburg. Till the beginning of the last quarter the fight was equal but the red-white team managed to did its best and score 26 points in 10 minutes that demoralized Nizhny Novgorod (only 7 points). Vladimir Dragicevic succeeded in 26 points and 7 rebounds in a winning team, as for the home one - Artem Yakovenko scored 16 points and 7 rebounds.

On Wednesday, February 20, 2013 Eurocup Last-16 last games were played. Three Russian clubs suffered road defeats: PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar was beaten by Stelmet Zielona Gora, BC Triumph Lyubertsy - by Budivelnik Kiev and BC Spartak St Petersburg - by Cajasol Seville. Despite this fail Loko and Spartak will continue fight for the Eurocup trophy in the quarterfinals. Triumph ended its 2012/2013 European way.

On Wednesday, February 13, 2013 four Russian teams played their Eurocup Last-16 games. PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar, BC Triumph Lyubertsy and UNICS Kazan scored victories and BC Spartak St Petersburg lost. In fact, three clubs except BC Triumph has already entered Eurocup play-offs.

Vitaly Fridzon did his best in 25 points, Paul Davis added 11 points and 6 rebounds. In BC Spartak Zackary Wright scored 17 points.

In PBL championship game Spartak St Petersburg at home played with CSKA Moscow. From the very beginning the guest team took the lead and didn't allow Jure Zdovc's squad to grip initiative. As a result - confident road victory of the Moscow team and first place in PBL standings. In Spartak SPb Mavrokefalidis scored 13 poins, Zavoruev and Carter - 12 points each. In CSKA Krstic added 18 points, Khryapa - 13, Zozulin - 12.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2013 four Russian clubs competed in Eurocup Last-16 week 2 games. All squads played at home. Spartak St Petersburg confidently defeated Cajasol Seville, Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar swat away Stelmet Zielona Gora. As for BC Triumph Lyubertsy it lost to BC Budivelnik Kiev and UNICS Kazan was defeated by Ratiopharm Ulm.

The Jure Zdovc team confidently won - 84:68. Joshua Carter scored 16 points, Zakhary Wright - 15 points ans 7 rebounds. In UNICS Nikita Shabalkin added 22 points, Charles Eidson - 14 points.

On December 23, 2012 BC Spartak St Petersburg within the bounds of PBL championship at home faced BC Nizhniy Novgorod. Games between this opponents are always close and interesting. Now everything was decided in the very end of the match: Joshua Carter's triple practically with the buzzer led the home team to a victory. Mavrokefalides scored 11 points, Beverley and Carter - 10 points each in BC Spartak, in Nizhniy Novgorod Brezec added 20 points, Thompson - 15 points and Antonov - 12 points.

On Wednesday, December 19, 2012 within the bounds of PBL championship BC Spartak-Primorye hosted BC Spartak St Petersburg and lost with the score 60:77. From the beginning of the meeting the Jure Zdovc's team took the lead and didn't allow the opponent to make a comeback. Even in the third quarter when the gap between the teams was only 3 points. So the overall success was at the side of BC Spartak St Petersburg. Patrick Beverley scored 14 points, Vladimir Dragicevic - 12, in Spartak-Primorye Troy Gillenwater added 19 points and 7 rebounds, Artem Zabelin - 14 points.

On Wednesday, December 12, 2012 Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar, UNICS Kazan, Spartak St Petersburg and BC Triumph Lyubertsy played on the road last Eurocup regular season games and all scored victories. Loko beat Trefl Sopot, UNICS swat away Telenet Oostende, Spartal swept out Cholet Basket and BC Triumph in the extra time overcame Artland Dragons. Eventually all Russian clubs entered Eurocup Last 16.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2012 five Russian clubs competed in European cups. BC Triumph and BC Spartak St Petersburg scored confident victories within the bounds of Eurocup, BC Krasnye Krylia - in EuroChallenge. As for UNICS Kazan and PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban, they suddenly were defeated at home by the teams from Poland and Ukraine accordingly.

BC Triumph Lyubertsy, UNICS Kazan and BC Spartak St Petersburg won their Eurocup matches, BC Krasnye Krylia succeeded in EuroChallenge. In the PBL Championship game, held in Lyubertsy on Sunday, November 25, 2012 BC Triumph hosted BC Spartak St Petersburg and won in a bitter struggle. The decisive throw was done by Sergey Karasev before 0.2 seconds to the buzzer. Karasev turned to be the best scorer of the match: 18 points. Now Triumph has 3 wins and 3 losses in PBL standings and ranks at six place. Spartak has a 4-3 record and occupies fifth place.

Spartak St Petersburg swat away Ratiopharm Ulm, PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban destroyed Galatasaray Medical Park, UNICS Kazan on the road defeated Panionios BC Athens and BC Triumph Lyubertsy left no chances to VEF Riga.

Within the bounds of VTB United League (the result of the game takes into account of PBL championship) Spartak St Petersburg at its home court in the overtime suffered a painful defeat from BC Krasnye Krylia Samara. Its was the first defeat for Jure Zdovc's team and seventh in a row victory for Sergey Bazarevich's squad. Chester Simmons added 22 points and 7 rebounds, Jeremiah Massey - 14 points and 6 rebounds.

On Monday 16th of April during the BEKO PBL Board meeting the representatives of the clubs have approved the concept of the United tournament of BEKO PBL and VTB League, which recently received full support from the Euroleague.  Also the scheme and dates for the current season play-offs were approved.
